Either Way You Flip It, Your Dad Cooks It

cray·on [krey-on, -uh n] - noun: a pointed stick or pencil of colored clay, chalk, wax, etc., used for drawing or coloring.

So the whole debate started in 2nd Block; Computer Apps 2. I asked Devanie to hand me the crown (crayon) that I dropped on the floor. From their she explained to me that I was saying it wrong. I even looked it up on dictionary.com and heard then audio. She was right. I do it subconsciously though. I never realized it's [krey-on] because I've been pronouncing it as 'crown' ever since I was little. I blame it on anyone who never corrected me when they heard me say it before. Especially all my teachers up until this point. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for letting me think that was right all this time. I have a feeling that I'm still going to pronounce it as crown though, that's gonna be a hard habit to break.

Youtube Beef?

This picture is really irrelevant to this whole post. But he is really cute and his teeth are gorgeous. I hope he doesn't mind but I stole this picture from his twitter. That sounds pretty stalkerish, huh? Haha well then..moving on.

Okay, so I usually don't indulge myself with internet beef and all that good stuff but I came across this girl named Keys from Baltimore on youtube and let's just say she wasn't too happy with the way Ms. Minaj was representing hip hop (if that's what we call this music nowadays) so she basically decided to call her out via youtube video. She's actually a decent rapper. But honestly, she wasn't saying anything new, to me at least. It's pretty obviously that once Nicki got signed she changed a bit LOT. As far the whole "Barbie" image and her lyrics, I give it a big fat NO. She started to portray the image that she thought the media would accept and what do you know, now she has a nation full of plastic barbies trailing right behind her.

I don't even listen to any of the new stuff she has out but every once and a while I'll hear her on the radio (by accident) and I'll be thinking 'why in the world is she talking like this?' because that's not the Nicki Minaj that I used to listen to. She's starting to be a replica of Lil Wayne and that's no bueno. Yeah they sell records, but the music quality is low. People need to start analyzing what they're listening to instead of buying whatever MTV/BET tells them to.

This Week's Downloads

I didn't really hear about the group Designer Drugs until about 2 months ago, due to a blog post, and I've been stuck on them ever since. I can't remember the name of the blog at the moment but once I find out I'll be sure to post the link. Anyways I downloaded Datamix 08 on Wednesday and needless to say, I love it.

Download: Datamix 08

Now don't get me wrong I'm not new to this Wiz Khalifa guy. I've heard about him countless amount of times from a few friends and I've actually downloaded some of his stuff, but I've never listened to anything by him. I downloaded Kush & Orange Juice yesterday, I've only heard a few tracks on it though. People have been telling me that his music before this mixtape was better, but I'll probably listen through it tonight and see if I like his music or not.

Download: Kush & OJ

Asher Roth; if there's one guy that rocks my socks it's him. I didn't even know he came out with a new mixtape last month but I downloaded it yesterday and I love it. I don't even need to go into detail on why I like him because once I start it'll be hard for me to stop. I'll just make a post on him another day. I'm not sure what day, but it'll come sooner or later.

And It Comes to an End

Well yesterday my friend Mina invited me to go to the movies with her since we've both been pretty bored over the break. Of course I accepted the invite. We went to see Percy Jackson and the Olympian's The Lightning Thief at the dollar theater. Her brother was really excited about it and I'm into a lot of Greek mythology so I really enjoyed the it. Oh, and Brandon T. Jackson was also in the movie so that was a major plus (for me at least haha).

After the movie we stopped by Krogers to get a few things to eat for dinner and we needed to get marshmellows, which were so difficult to find for some reason. They're usually by the candy but not at that Krogers. We searched up and down every darn aisle for those things. If the marshmellows aren't by the candy then where would they be? You think you've got it all figured out and then they do something like this. Just out of curiosity, where do you think they would be? Out of all places in the store, they decide to put the marshmellows beside the Jello and under the Yams, on the last shelf. Now who would have thought to look there? Not me!

Spring Break is officially over. Tomorrow I'm off to that place of learning and I can't say I'm too thrilled, but I'll have to suck it up and just try my best to make it through this week.

Random Photos

Yesterday I got some film developed and I think they came out really well. These are just a few pictures I took back in January (you can see more on my flickr), just never had the time to get them developed. I still have three rolls that haven't been developed yet so I'm hoping to get that done by the end of the month, if not sooner.

I've had Chuck ever since Christmas of '09, he's a Chinon CP-7m, and I love him to death. Photography is something I've loved ever since I was little and I can honestly say that it's something that I love doing. I only hope to get better as days, weeks, months, and eventually years go by.

What Time is It?

Adventure Time with Finn and Jake!

Now I'm a big kid at heart so when my buddy Rishie showed me a few clips of this show online I was sold. I just watched the first episode of the new season and I really enjoyed it. I also think that 'Holy Cow' has officially become my new catch phrase, every since I heard the character Finn say it, it's been stuck in my mind. Cartoon Network is slowly working its way up to being my favorite channel.

It's Coming, It's Coming!

Ever since I got word that Travis McCoy was coming out with his solo album Lazarus, Ive been on edge. I've already downloaded his first single 'Billionaire' ft. Bruno Mars (that guy rocks my socks) and today I stumbled upon the artwork for the album. It's so simple yet it caught my attention. June seems so far away but it'll be worth the wait.
