Yesterday I went down to Emory University in Atlanta with my friend Mina, her mom, and my two new found friends Julia and JoJo. The event was called Sacred Music Sacred Dance for World Healing and it was performed by The Monks of Drepung Loseling Monastery. There was also a guest appearance by The Dharma Bums, or the old man band as Mina likes to call them. It was beyond amazing. I'm into a lot of cultural based things so I'm grateful that I had the chance to attend. I also got this journal for $5 while I was there. It was handmade in India, the cover is made from leaves while the actual paper inside the journal was made from flowers.

Lumedisco U
So I happened to be browsing on lookbook.nu (what's new?) when I stumbled across a girl who calls herself Lumedisco U. Her style is amazing and very eccentric from what I can see so I thought I should share a few of my favorite looks from her.
LOOKBOOK.nu: "Stripes" by Lumedisco U: "Monki Blazer, Replay Jeans, Lumedisco Heels, H&M Top"
Hopefully there'll be more pictures and outfits to come but for now you can find her on lookbook.nu as well as blogspot.

Ryan Leslie x adidas Originals - "When I Think About Love" from Ryan Leslie on Vimeo.
Ryan Leslie is just so...I can't even find words to describe how much of a great artist he is. It's just one of those things where you look at him and know that whatever it is you're about to hear is going to be something good. We definitely need more artist like this.

Losing The Game of Love
I guess it was an illusion in my mind, that had me thinking you’re were a good guy. But you stole my vision and it was kind of hard to see that all the things that made you happy, were hurting me. But what do I know? I’m just a young naive girl that’s trapped in her own fantasy world. Yeah I think I’m in love, but then again I thought wrong.
I was another player in one of his games and he knew the rules too well. Me on the other hand, I was just a rookie and the rules were still unfamiliar. So I ended up losing in the game of love. They say that it’s better to have love and lost then to have never loved at all. But what I didn’t know is that the love that I had lost would leave me feeling empty.

Random Conversations
When I'm bored I tend to ask very random questions, so when I texted Devanie this is how the conversation went.
Me: What would you do if I cut off my hair right now?
Devanie: it matters on how you cut it :)
Me: All of it, GONE. What if I go bald? Haha.
Devanie: i would laugh at your dumb ass, then refer a wig :)
Lmao. You wouldn't even understand how hard I was laughing.

Art; Yum
Something about art just makes me so excited. One of my favorite artists out right now (besides KAWS and Takashi Murakami) would have to be Jeremyville. His work is very creative and every time I see something new from him I rack my brain trying to figure out what it means or the story behind it.
I was talking to someone the other day and we happened to be talking about differnt forms/styles of art. They wanted to know the difference between Realism, Primitive, and Surrealism art. So here ya go:
- Realism is art that shows things exactly as they appear. Like if I wanted to paint a tree, I would just paint the tree as I see it with no extra details.
- Primitive art is basically art for children. The pictures are usually painted very simply, and the subjects are flat or two-dimensional.
- Lastly and my favorite, Surrealism is generally based on dreams. These paintings are painted to look strange or mysterious. They were made to make people look at things in a different way and change the way they felt about things.
(The Elephant Celebes, 1921; Oil on canvas)
Since I'm on the topic of art anyways. My favorite surreal artist would have to be Max Ernst. He's known as one of the primary pioneers of Surrealism and Dada (dadaism; a cultural movement that began in Zürich, Switzerland). The movement involved visual arts, literature—poetry, art manifestoes, art theory—theatre, and graphic design.
It's funny because my love for art is like whoa, but I couldn't draw if my life depended on it.

Hmmm?
I'm no fashion expert or anything but I'd like to post a few people that I personally think have great style.
Sliimy
Vashtie
Maluca. Remember the soda cans that Lady Gaga was rocking as rollers in her video Telephone? It was first seen in Maluca's video El Tigeraso.
Lady Gaga. Need I say more?
Daniel 'Diggy' Simmons (http://digslifeofthejetsetter.blogspot.com/)
Don't even deny it. Rihanna's style is outrageous.
Amerie.
Solange. My love for her will NEVER die.
Chanel Iman <3
Trust me, there's a lot more. I'm just being super lazy at the moment.

I'm Kind of Busy
Telephone (ft. Beyonce) - Lady GaGa from jake on Vimeo.
Telephone- Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce
I don't even have anything to say, the video is enough.
Lady Gaga = Pure Genius
Diggy Simmons - Made You Look (Flow Stoopid)
Flow stoopid. Oh, I made you look!
Diggy rapping over Nas' 'Made You Look' and he most definitely killed it. He has a great fashion sense and his flow is crazy, can I find a guy like you please? Haha. His teeth are gorgeous by the way.

Instant Gratification
Ok so there's no specific date set for N.E.R.D.'s fourth album Instant Gratification, all I know is that it's supposed to come out some time this year (hopefully). I'm trying to be so patient, I promise you I am but it's hard. If the members of N.E.R.D. happen to read this (I doubt it) pleaseeeeee hurry up with this album. And maybe I'm just late but I didn't know they dropped Rhea from the group. Didn't she just join the group 2009? Personally I didn't think they needed a fourth member, the group was fine just the way it was. I was kind of looking forward to seeing her on their upcoming album though.
Random: Did you know that the name of Saturn's second largest moon is Rhea?

It's hereeeee! [faints]
Earlier than expected but it's here. It's been 5 years since the release of Demon Days so it's kind of a BIG DEAL. Plastic Beach has already been released in Japan and was set to be realeased on March 8 in the UK, March 9 in the US, but as you know some things never go as planned. It's been leaked all over the net. Therefore I will be taking advantage of this opportunity. Plus I've seen great reviews on it so far. It's definitely a must have for 2010.

Hair Rollers and Captain Crunch
I look really lost in this picture haha. I wish I would've taken a picture of my shirt. It read "Pardon My French" and I thought that was perfect for me since I say it on random occasions. But eh, oh well.
Do you think this post was random and pointless? I totally agree. But the best thing about it is that it's my blog. Know what that means? I can post whatever I want. Yayyyyyyy! fbsjkdbkbgkfjkgdkk! (some random language meaning 'whoo hoo!').
